I registered a 5 lb weight loss this week. Even with TOM and lots of stress and working around the clock. As I said before, its stressful times like this which would usually leave me a souvenir of 5-7 lbs. Protecting my health during times of stress is an NSV for me.
And finally for the first time in 9 months, I feel like the band is helping to curb my physical hunger. Usually my stomach starts growling 3-4 hours after eating. The last couple of days I noticed after skipping lunch (not intentional at all-really stressful schedule with back to back deadlines) that I didn't register hunger for close to 8-10 hours. The band helps me not to overeat, but I never felt any increased increased satiety...even if I ate protein rich food.
Question...how hungry are you during the day? Has the band curbed your appetite or does it just suppress your over eating or does it do both?
Sometimes (ok, a lot of times) it's my head doing all the talking...and I TRY TRY TRY to ignore it!!! Last night I wasn't hungry when it came time for supper. So, I didn't eat!!! What a concept...listened to my band and my pouch and had some watermelon later on when I felt a rumbly in my tumbly!!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I have found that extreme stress makes me tighter...kind of a good thing!?!
it depends on the day, on the weekends when I get up a little later I seem not to be as hungry and the band does help with that. When I am up for a while i do get hungry more. Overall though it has helped with both
ReplyDeleteEh. I battle head hunger something terrible so it's hard for me to say. I still get hungry every 4 hours or so but I used to be hungry all the time so I guess it's an improvement.
ReplyDeleteRachel. So glad the band is working for you. Am totally struggling. Not hungry but still have a lot of head hunger. I need to get motivated and start making it work. I do feel like I am failing and you know I said it wasn't an option!
ReplyDeleteFor me, the band keeps me from overeating, but I eat small bits throughout the day and it keeps me from feeling hungry. It's weird, but it works for me.
ReplyDeleteWow, congrats on the huge loss during a stressful time especially!! I think the band really does impact my hunger. When I eat protein first especially. I just have to remember to separate head vs. physical hunger since it can't do that for me. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I am still new to banding, but I love to hear about successful losses. I'm so nervous for my first fill (7/27) and I hope I can have the same success as you!
ReplyDeleteMy last fill was 5 weeks ago, and each week, I get a little more hungry. I wish the heat would help me - without the upchucking. Monday is (hopefully) the last fill for a while. Hungry 2-3 times a day...sometimes not in the morning.
