My Banded Time

I need a shirt that says, "I'm not bulimic, the heat is just making my band unbearably tight!"

There is a definite correlation between heat and band tightness.  I'm scared to eat anything but soup or yoghurt tonight...OMG  I'm soooooooooooooooo tight but I don't want an unfill because I think I found my balanced green spot.  I was at PF Chang's for a lunch with a friend, quietly chewing on a piece of protein and then had a huge episode of projectile vomiting.  I was being good!  Those poor women in the PF Chang's restroom.  Then it happened a couple more times on a very safe band friendly foods.  A couple times it happened at work.  I really dread a colleague bringing me eating disorder pamphlets out of concern.  Girls I think I'm on liquids till this heat waves leaves the Metropolitan DC area.

This is definitely an entry for "Girlfriends Guide to the Band"...when it gets over 100 degrees, go to liquids!!!

  1. Oh, I am with you. I'm trying to stick to yogurt, soups. Today seemed a little better, but I'm not going to test it. I agree that I'm not going to get an unfill b/c I feel like once the heat breaks I'll be fine.

  3. I haven't experienced this yet, hope I never do! Hope no one brings you pamphlets, since that'd be mortifying... but how funny would that be? lol

  4. All the more reason to have that shirt made. Or better, a lapel pin!

  5. I have actually told strangers that I was pregnant to explain my public vomiting. Luckily that has not yet come back to bite me in the tuckus!

  6. Oh Rachel, I'm so sorry! Both about the heat and the vomiting episodes. As you know about life "this too shall pass" are the truest words ever spoken...so hang in there and stay cool, my friend!

  7. I wonder if it has as much to do with heat as humidity. I live in AZ so we have a dry heat and I'm not experiencing unusual tightness but a lot of bloggers back east are and I think it's the stickiness of the situation. Hope it passes soon.

  8. Oh my goodness, while on vacation last week I was so tight, and thought I must have done something to irritate it. Now I see how many people are having the same issues, and I feel like a complete dufus for not realizing it could be weather related!

  9. Yikes!! I have found that I only need one PB episode to get the train rolling then everything aggravates it. and you are right.. after that it needs to be liquids till the band calms down. If I could suggest, really just revisiting the bite size of solid proteins.. you really need to chew them long.. I find when I take a normal size bite of chicken its enough to set me off... Hope things calm down for you sweetie!! be well

  10. I have been in the same boat. Stress, lack of sleep and the heat have all contributed to a very tight band and when i was goign through all my family related stress this last week, my brother is now convinced I'm bulimic. I do need that t-shirt.
