How will you survive Thanksgiving with Minimal Damage?
I'm going to survive this day of feasting/overeating by:
1) Treadmilling/walking/meditating in the am before the "dinner"
2) Having a Lean Cuisine an hour before going to the "dinner"
3) Drinking lots of H20 (32 oz)before the "dinner"
4) Spend time/enjoy time with my kids (boys 8,9) and nieces/nephews (10 under the age of 10) versus grazing with the adults.
5) Giving myself permission to have a "delicious sampling taste" of the desserts.
6) Giving myself permission to sample the "delicious food"
7) Not grazing
8) Letting my band do the talking and listening to the talking band.

ReplyDeleteExcellent list! My problem is not Thanksgiving, as much as it is the days that follow! I'm too busy cooking and thinking of details to really enjoy the actual dinner - so I usually just sit, pick at my food, and enjoy everyone else eating and getting into the conversation at the table..
ReplyDeleteI have found that I graze in the days that follow.... At least Saturday we'll be away tho!
Happy Thanksgiving, my Friend!
Great list, and a great reminder that we all need to mentally and physically prepare...first Thanksgiving as a Bandster, I'm sure I'll be following many of the things on your list as well!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you've got it covered!
ReplyDeleteWe are a lonely twosome on Thanksgiving, so it will probably be easier for me than some. Christmas, on the other hand. . . that I'll need a coping list for!
I hope your Thanksgiving went off without a hitch! Thanks for stopping by my site.
