Not Obvious Yet

I've lost 17 lbs and it is not obvious yet...to the outside world.  No on has commented on it.  I often wonder if I'm imagining it.  I even bought a higher quality scale.  I'm still wearing my old clothes...they are just more comfortable and they are not binding or cutting into my skin.

I'm too greedy.  I want the glory too early.  I have to stick with it and be consistent.

  1. It will come! It took me what seemed like forever to get out of my clothes that I had worn for so long. Be patient... it WILL happen! People will really start to notice soon! It happened for me about 40 lbs down.

  2. It happened for me at 40 lbs. too. And then EVERYONE was mentioning it and it was annoying and I felt uncomfortable with all the attention. Now at 95 lbs. down hardly anyone ever mentions it.

  3. Yep 40 is the big one. And when you wear pants that fit it will be more noticeable.

  4. Yea, it takes awhile for people to comment. I'm sure you are noticing changes, so enjoy them yourself. You'll get the comments soon.

  5. Just enjoy your success privately - the public part will come soon enough!! You're doing great!

  6. You guys are too much. The blog world is great for sustaining my fragile ego. Thanks friends. I will shoot for 40...that is another incentive.

  7. I feel the same way! So far only my husband says things, but we all know his comments don't count ;) Nearly all of my jeans give me diaper ass and they're all pretty baggy, so I think it should be obvious that I've lost weight, but nobody says anything. However, when I wear the one pair of jeans that fit me well, a few people tell me that I look really nice... so I guess I'll take what I can get :) Like the others said, enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that your clothes are fitting better, and the outside attention will come soon enough.

  8. Enjoy the fact that YOU have succeeded! In fact, that is all that really matters! It will show, but for now, know that you're doing it, Girlfriend!!! Congrats!!

  9. It will come, or so I've been told. Especially when you're wearing the same clothes and they get baggy, it is hard for people to see.

You're amazing! Keep up the good work.

  10. Rachel,
I just wanted to say hi. I don't have a blog, but I have a lot in common with you and your blog has resonated with me. I got banded on Nov. 9th and also live in the DC area. It sounds like you are really working hard on all aspects of this process. Hang in there...I know you will be successful!

  11. it took 50 pounds if I remember correctly for my first comment and it was from a student of mine who I only saw once every couple of months. Now I get comments but only here and there and from people I haven't seen in a long time. The size thing is the same--as you get smaller the space between sizes gets smaller too. I only bought new clothes 4 times in 140 pounds...the biggest took the longest and then this last change was a matter of months. Keep on going you will see things at first but others will soon enough.
